The traditional Sharkika farmhouse has been lovingly restored and is now a fusion of elegance and original charm. It is located on the outskirts of Xaghra, a busy town with many shops, restaurants, mini markets and a bank.

A short drive away is Ramla beach which is Gozo’s largest and arguably the best on the island with its wide stretch of red sand and it is often referred to locally as “Ramla il-Hamra” – the Red Sandy Beach! It is a fabulous place to swim, snorkel and chill out in the sun. The area around the beach is wonderfully undeveloped, although there are a couple of cafes set back from the beach. 

A long sunlit corridor leads into the farmhouse with doors out onto the pool and garden from the the main living area. The pool area is a calm and tranquil space for sunbathing and al fresco meals. Original floor tiles throughout give this farmhouse a wonderful glimpse into its past. The kitchen, dining room and living room are one large space, perfect for socializing for families and couples alike.

A feature stone spiral staircase leads to the upper level and onto the first floor. There is also an outside stone staircase, a feature of many of Gozo’s old farmhouses. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, both with en suites and lovely original features. There is room for a foldaway bed and/or a cot, if required for the 5th person.

The farmhouse has fans and air conditioning in the bedrooms, for both cold air and heat. The air conditioning units are operated using one and two euro coins.
